Tommy Toy Fund, led by United Way of Eastern Connecticut, Inspired Community Collaboration
NORWICH, Conn. —December 10, 2025. Reliance Health again had the honor of serving as one of three Tommy Toy Fund distribution sites, opening its Morosky Building in downtown Norwich to families as United Way of Southeastern Connecticut led efforts to bring holiday gifts to children in the community.
The Norwich location for Tommy Toy Fund this year filled the Wellness Center with pallets of toys for children aged 0-12. Families lined up past the ceiling-high Christmas tree and out the door, and volunteers handed out nearly every toy to parents and caregivers by day’s end. It takes a village to collect and hand out that many toys to the nearly 1,500 registered children, and Norwich was up for the task.
Reliance Health first hosted Tommy Toy Fund activities in the newly renovated Wellness Center in 2021. The wellness center is located in the Morosky building at 2 Cliff St., named for Reliance Health founder John Morosky, and was designed as a gathering place to bring people together to support each other. Tommy Toy Fund this year did just that.
Reliance Health remains proud to stand alongside the many local agencies that support Tommy Toy Fund, joining dedicated partners across the community, including businesses and individual volunteers. Dime Bank volunteers served as elves gathering toys for each child. Mohegan Sun volunteers transformed the Wellness Center into a winter wonderland before distribution day. Multiple local stores collected toy donations in the weeks leading up to the event. Numerous community members also signed up independently to volunteer.
While the Norwich Distribution site had 1,5000 registered children, the United Way of Eastern Connecticut distributed toys to roughly 4,000 total across all three distribution sites in Norwich, Killingly, and New London.
